The Opportunity
The External Relations, Development and Alumni portfolio works collaboratively across the University to initiate, grow and steward strong person to person relationships with key stakeholders that support Monash University’s research and education endeavours. This includes overseeing a range of activities including alumni relations, communications, fundraising, external engagement, donor programs, and community engagement activities for the University, nationally and internationally.
In your role of Events and Engagement Officer, you will assist the Senior Manager and External and Stakeholder Engagement Team in the delivery of strategic University-wide events and engagement activities. The administrative support you will provide in this role ranges across various core event activities such coordinating the issuing of invitations and subsequent responses, follow-up, and updating of records, researching and writing biographical profiles on key attendees, and assisting team members with planning and occasional event delivery. Additionally, you will provide guidance to, and manage queries from various internal and external stakeholders and clients.
With a tertiary qualification or background in events, high-level administration or research, you will bring your well-honed organisational, communication and interpersonal skills to the fore in this role, to ensure events you support have a solid administrative foundation, attendees are well researched and cultural sensitives considered, bringing a positive experience to all involved and delivering strong outcomes on each engagement activity.
